Week 5

Week 5 was weird because it finished on Wednesday. I did not want to add more features or complex systems before beginning networking next week to make it easy on myself so I cleaned up code & documented. Exciting, I know.

So by the end of next week I’d like to be able to;

  • Start a game as a authoritative server (So servers can be dedicated)
  • Connect to a game server
  • Synchronize current players
  • Synchronize current buildings
  • Have nice interpolated movement for entities

Half of Week 5 done

Well, this has been the least visually exciting week so far. The upside is that I am already done with the goals I had for Week 5 which were Projectiles, Teams, Building behavior and UI for selected units.

I’ll use this advance to tidy up and add documentation as well as code structure for upcoming gameplay & networking code. I’ll also try to have something fun ready for this week recap on Friday.
